The Day's Roundup
So, I think carrying a notebook with me is going to be a great thing. Copying down thoughts, ideas, to-do lists, etc.? Fantastic.
One of my English teachers quit at the end of July, and I've been anxious about who would replace her. Fortunately, her replacement is a very competent and fun teacher I worked with two years ago, so I dodged that bullet. One of my other teachers is going on sabbatical in a couple weeks until the new year, though, so there's still one more bullet to dodge.
Had the school nurse look at the swelling in my legs that's been there for a year. Yes, I know a year is a stupidly long time to do nothing about it, don't bother pointing that out. My right one is just a little bit swollen, but my left one is stupendously swollen, and red, and it's gotten worse lately so people have started to comment on it. I showed it to her, and she was like, "UWA, GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" "But it's not open until tomorrow morning." "GO THEN." So, I'm off to the hospital tomorrow I guess.
I've been looking into jobs in other Asian countries that I could do. Most of them, predictably, are English teaching. Saw a job in Korea that paid even better than this one, but it starts next month and I'm occupied for the next year. Decided I should look into TEFL/TESOL certification so that I can expand the number of countries I'm eligible to teach in. Wanna do it online, because I can't get to a regular in-class course. Wanna get it from a properly accredited, reputable online course though, and one that's not too expensive. Do any of you have ideas or suggestions? I found http://www.teflonline.com/ but I dunno how it actually is. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I kinda wanna learn how to draw, because, barring the odd stroke of creative genius and dexterity boost, I can't draw worth shit. There's free tutorials at http://dev.drawspace.com/, though, so I think I'm gonna start working through them. It'll make my journals a little less mundane if I can sketch things in them, yes?
I'm still taking suggestions for places in Japan to visit in my 4-day weekends next month.
And....... I'm out!
