This is perhaps the awesome handkerchief ever. I got it 3 years ago, I think, butI never really paid attention to it until the other day.
The biggest, oldest tree in town.
I can haz resentment?
Though full bloom in Takaoka isn't for almost two weeks, this tree in a back alley in Tonami is in nearly full bloom.
While minding my own business on the former back alley, I became aware of birds flitting around in a nearby tree. When I saw their green colouring, I realized I'd found some of the shy uguisu, the birds you hear but rarely see. I only had my 50mm lens, though, and they were at the very top of the tall tree. This is a crop of a tiny tiny portion of a 12MP image. I'm still quite happy with it. :)
At the end of a long alley, I was greeted by this.
At the end of THIS alley, to be specific.
Another in a continuing series of CHARACTER ADVENTURES YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH by me.
ooh
i've just remembered a dream i had last night
it was like, some sort of old-timey cartoon
the drawing style, and animation style seemed old-timey
also it was coloured in that all yellow/orange/red/light brown palette that some old-timey cartoons are for some reason
anyway, there was some dodgy little girl walking around, and every once in a while a new path would open, and she'd go through it, and me and my unidentified friend (who weren't old-timey cartoons, but were in the land) would follow
we went over a suspension bridge (the type you'd find in a jungle, you know, over a river or a gorge), and went into a cave (but it was more like a rectilinear, thin-walled building masquerading as a cave)
came out and there was a well-to-do couple in tennis outfits, leaving their expensive white car parked near a sand spit beside a river
they saw my unidentified friend were like
HOW COULD YOU?
HOW COULD YOU GIVE US ALL THAT MONEY
WHY, WE'VE HAD TO HIRE PEOPLE TO TAKE CARE OF ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE IN OUR NEW GIANT HOUSE BECAUSE OF THE MONEY YOU GAVE US
WE'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT
and then i woke up because it was too stupid
For Golden Week, I'm gonna go to Kyushu. There's a concert in Fukuoka on May 2nd, and after that I want to head south to Miyazaki.
What I really really want is to stay in a seaside cottage or bungalow or cabin in Miyazaki (in either Nichinan or Hyuga) for 4 or 5 days during Golden Week, but the internet is thwarting my efforts to find one.
Normally, when I want to find lodging, I use Rakuten Travel, but they don't really have the sort of seaside cottages I want. I don't want a resort, I just want a small place on the beach, where I can wake up to the sound of the ocean and whatnot. You know what I mean? Also, cheap is good, but it doesn't need to be super cheap necessarily -- I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount for this sort of experience.
Can anyone help me out?
He came out for dinner and drinks with me. Gave me a cute present. We went to another bar afterwards for more drinking. He slept on a futon on my floor because there were no more trains and he couldn't drive. He snores, but not too loudly. I look forward to drinking with him again.
The aforementioned cute gift. It's a panda mug, with a little perching panda spoon :)
When perusing the variety of discount White Day chocolates the week after white day, I came across this. It is a poo. Inside the poo are gummi poos. When you are finished, there is a slot on the back you can cut off to make a nice little poo bank. Poo.
I thought I heard a noise. But we're safe here in Umbrella Corp. Employee Housing, aren't we? Wait, Jill, where are you going?
Moments later, the zombies attacked.
My b-day present from skylarkza. It's a happiness (hapenis?) charm from the penis festival in Nagoya. Nearly everything a boy could ask for!
Now rock out to this in comemmoration of the end of the awesomest TV series ever.
On this, a day when I keenly feel the impermanence of things, and am just a little down, not particularly looking forward to missing a particular friend I've made at work, I remembered this quote, which made me feel rather better about it all.
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.

Besides, he'll still be nearby, and we'll still be friends, so it's not a problem at all, in the end.
I went for a drive yesterday, because it was my birthday, and I wanted to do something.
I headed for the uhhhhhhhhhh Sankyoson observation deck at Yume no Taira, but the last bit of road before it was closed, and snow-covered, and I couldn't be bothered to climb through it, so I settled for some pics from not-the-observation-deck. I'll make it to the observation deck some other time I guess.
After that I headed for Toyama for no good reason, and then came back. (shrug).
I took pictures! Let's enjoying them.
I still dunno why I bought the new camera. I'm not using it enough to have justified it. Whatever.
I AM, however, abusing Lightroom like the kinky bitch it is, and you can clearly see that in these shots, I'd imagine. D:
