I didn't do much in Autumn, but you can watch a video anyway.
Toyama. Nothing particularly exciting. Halloween. School festival? Chopsticks. A really really long video of a scary thing from Enta no Kamisama at the end for some reason...
Sorafune performed by Nakajima Miyuki and Bokura no Love Story by WaT.
In the first of an ongoing series, here is a video shoddily thrown together automatically in Vaio Movie Story, of my first 5 months in Japan. More will come regularly until i'm caught up until now, at which case they'll come... less regularly.
Music is Hana by ORANGE RANGE, and uhhh, Thunderbirds ~ your voice ~ by V6 -- two songs that were uhhh current at the time the pics in this video were taken. That's sort of the plan: either choose music that was current (that I like) or music that seems unrelated, but is my personal musical memory of the event/period. So yeah, too much talking, Autumn 2k4 here we go.
Still frustrated with work, and things are feeling REALLY weird and uncomfortable, and I'm not sure why. There's been no... tangible change, it's just that everything FEELS different. And it all happened so suddenly that, if it wasn't for that fact that my meds haven't changed in forever, I would blame them and be in to the doctor to ask if it was a side effect. The only side effects my meds have that could be psychological are "evil thoughts". However, that's just how the web translator translates that symptom -- everyone else translates it as "nausea", so it's most certainly not my meds.
Just got an e-mail from Workopolis that's like "ARE YOU IN A CAREER RUT?" If this could be called a career, I suppose I'd have to say yes. But it's not a career, at all, so no. Their tips weren't all that helpful anyway. "Take on new responsibility!" "Make constructive comments to your boss, and diplomatically state your position!" Yeah, these are all helpful for people in a position to possibly eventually get a promotion and a pay raise. Not a possibility for me, soooo, yeah no.
Anyway, I took some pictures. じゃ、写真を撮った!(やっぱり、ね?)
Finally, here's a video I shot on Rt. 304 near Johana in August. It's crap, but you can see the area a little bit.
最後に、このビデオは8月に撮った。富山県南砺市城端町の辺、Rt.304の見晴らしのいい場所です。このビデオはちょっとまずいやけど、御覧ください。
Oh god, yesterday was horrible.
First, I woke up and was kinda headachy, so i took some pills and went back to sleep. Ended up being in bed for like, 13 hours. Felt pretty good when I woke for realreal though, so it's alright.
Hopped in the car and headed to Shogawa for the city employee beachball volleyball tournament.
Despite a valiant effort, our team was eliminated immediately, and we were free to go. Outside, I noticed that the area was actually kinda pretty, so it was phototiem.
The woman on the left apparently found a strange video tape in her house and watched it, but it made no sense. One can only assume she's gonna die in about a week, judging from this photo.
Kimchi Nabe is delicious! This was sooo good, and I kinda want to have it again soon. :X
This would be the point in the evening where things took a left turn into WHAT WERE YOU THINKING territory. I was kinda chilly, so I ordered some warm sake to warm me up. Good game, good game. But then it was decided that OH, YOU LIKE SAKE HERE HAVE SOME MORE. WANT SOME MORE? HERE TAKE SOME MORE. I drank a lot. Things progressed a bit there. Then we left. I don't remember leaving, so my brain must have shut off sometime before 9pm. I know this, because I have pictures of us all standing outside of the izakaya and walking to the next place. I don't remember any of this, but I have the photos to prove it happened, which are timestamped around 9pm.
I remember walking into the next bar, and being directed to the corner where everyone was. I sat down. I think something happened. Maybe someone took some pictures. Amazingly, my camera and my iPod had made the trip with me with no trouble, though i don't remember. This would be like, 9:15pm at the latest. Then some other stuff happened. I can't really explain it well, because the only way I know anything happened is from the photos on my camera.
The next thing I know, I'm waking up in bed, and it's 6am, and I feel like hell. And i'm like........ wait what? How did I get here? Where are my clothes? What's going on? Judging from the pictures on my camera, I apparently chugged more beer and did several shots at the bar, though, I don't remember any of it. Seriously, from 9:15 Saturday night to 6am Sunday is blank. I've had memory lapses when drinking heavily before, but never like that. Somehow all my stuff made it home with me, camera, ipod, wallet, keys, etc. I apparently took a taxi home, according to ppl, but I don't remember that either. I didn't puke, it seems, which is cool, because that hoodie is new! Upon making that discovery though, my body was like, "Oh hay, yeah, I totally forgot about that part of the ritual! Hang on, here it comes!" So I went and dealt with that five or six times. Chugged more water, took some painkillers, and headed back to bed. Woke up around 10, still feeling really wigged out. Like, the "i can't remember" plus the "how dare you poison me, i'll teach u" feeling combined for a really shitty morning and afternoon. Feeling better now, but it's taken me all day of just sitting around to get un-bleeh.
And now it's way past my bedtime. :( And I'm having a coughing fit. :(
Now watch this video that may or may not work right. About a third of the way in, when I try to play it on Vox, it hiccups and skips back to the beginning and stops, sooooo maybe it's just me. I dunno. Enjoy it anyway. I certainly do!
Since it's Monday, I'd normally post my last.fm top artists for the week chart, and an mp3, but last.fm is slow in chartmaking this week soooooo maybe that can happen tomorrow.
Didn't do much today. A load of laundry; bought train tickets for Friday to Tokyo; took some pictures:
And now, today's video: this is from this year's Toyama International Charity Show, entitled "Peter Pan and the NEETs". In this scene, Wendy is about to walk the plank, and Captain Hook and the pirates are taunting her and riling the firefly squid up. Suddenly, Peter Pan and the NEETs (and Wendy's brothers John, Michael and Ringo) appear and fighting ensues!! Let's watch!
