Picked Spiff up this morning and we headed for Fukuoka for the Ayu concert. It took bleeding forever, and the road was neither fun to drive nor fast-moving. We stopped for lunch at Royal Host. I had a club sandwich that took forever to come, because I think they had to kill three animals for it.
Concert was pretty awesome. We were nearly floor level, second row of the stands, maybe 6 seats from the very front. It was a better seat than the Fukui ones, because though we weren't on the floor, we were still closer than we had been in Fukui. Didn't get a sign ball (but it relied on Ayu's ability to hit a ball with a novelty bat -- there was never any hope of it), but I did get two of the streamers (unlike in Fukui where some whore blew most of them away with her fan, and then the one I did get was snatched from me by a horrible old bag). All in all, good times.
Then it took us forever to get out of the goddamned parking lot. It was then a very long drive back to drop Spiff off, and then I had to do a u-turn and make my way back to the hotel only to find that THERE WERE NO PARKING SPOTS LEFT. There were busses, and big trucks, and motorbikes taking up spots, and then when the spots ran out, people just parked willy-nilly all over the place, but even the patterns they had fallen into parking in were full by the time I got back. One guy had parked in the driveway, heading in, up the hill, half way up (so he was neither up nor down). I just sort of pulled in from the top to touch noses with him. I'm not blocking the vehicles around me, and I'm not blocking him (he can back out), so I hope it's okay... I asked the lady at the front desk, and she was like "WELL UM, WE OFFER PARKING AS A SERVICE, YOU SHOULD PARK BETWEEN THE LINEs."
Uh... there's no such spots left.
"WELL, PARKING IS A SERVICE, BUT IT IS NOT THE CONCERN OF THE HOTEL STAFF."
So, I guess I'm just taking my chances. :< I hope it'll be okay...
Anyway, GPS stats:
Distance Travelled: 180.3km
Avg. Speed: 40.1km/h
Stopped time: 2h 25m
Max Speed: 80.6km/h
TOTAL DISTANCE THUS FAR: 1058.1km
Assuming my car isn't wrecked/broken/towed/fucked up in some way before I can leave, tomorrow I'm heading for Mt. Aso, via Beppu, unless I decide Aso isn't worth it. Via Beppu at any rate, though.
Bedtime!
So, today marked the release of the new Ayumi Hamasaki double A-side single Rule/Sparkle. Rule, of course, is the theme for Dragonball Evolution. Sparkle is just the song for a honda commercial or something.
The single also came with remixes of her last double A-side single, GREEN/Days. This remix, in particular, is pretty rofltastic, but kind of grows on ya. Give it a listen.
PS: Fuck Vox, AGAIN, for fucking fuckfuckfucking the cover art etc. IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PROPERLY READ THE METADATA AND COVER ART, DESPITE MY SETTING IT UP USING THE PROGRAM YOU FUCKS HAVE RECOMMENDED, THEN DON'T FUCKING OFFER TO DO IT, ASSHOLES.
ok so, next month, there will be a new Ayu album. It'll be called "Next Level". There's several versions. You can get the 2CD+DVD version (the 13 album songs, a live recording from the new year's concert, and a dvd with 6 videos and making of), the CD+DVD version (the 13 songs plus the aforementioned DVD), the CD version (just the 13 songs) or the USB memory version
which has the 13 songs, 6 videos, and a digital copy of the booklet on the usb drive.
Now, while I think the usb dealie is kind of cool, and it should be sold in the store, or sent as pre-order bonuses to fan club members or something, using it as an album distribution medium is ass. The music is going to be low-quality and DRMd to shit, the videos will be low quality, etc etc. It's ricockulous, tbh.
So, there's a Dragonball movie coming out yes? The theme song, everywhere (not just in Japan) is going to be Rule, by Ayumi Hamasaki. I haven't heard it yet, but apparently it's quite good.
Anyway, the limited edition version of the single is gonna have artwork, of Ayu, by Akira Toriyama. HORRENDOUS! TAKE A LOOK.
In EYE-BLEEDINGLY LOW QUALITY BECAUSE YOUTUBE FUCKED UP THE CONVERSION SOMEHOW, and only has the "normal quality" version available, instead of the high quality and the normal quality, as is the case for the rest of my videos -_-.
Vox decided to get the stick out of it's ass and accept the video.
So, I see that around the interbutts, there are various people who translate the blogs of various Japanese stars into English for their fans. I assume there's someone translating the Ayu ones? But I've never seen them? And it would be good practice for me if I translated them?
Would anyone have any interest in me doing that?
Just a quick video for shits and giggles.
'appears' is Ayu's 11th single, released in 199. Filmed in New York, it seems. She rocks a Madonna-in-the-video-for-Music look at one point. Also appearing on this single was several remixes of "Whatever", one of my favourite songs, with one of my favourite videos. I wonder if I've shared it before?
I haven't done this in a while, ever since they changed the charts at last.fm, but whatever, I'll do it manually.
WHAT HAVE I LISTENED TO IN THE PAST WEEK?

I wonder if that will appear right? Hooray rich-text pasting.
Anyway, V6 because there's a new single out, and also because I was listening to my boy-band playlist for a while. Tenmon tied for first because I've been listening to the 秒速5センチメートル soundtrack a lot. That's also how Yamazaki Masayoshi got in there in #4. Ayu because I have a shitload of Ayu, and the stuff from the singles boxset is still in my current playlist. Angela Aki also had a new single recently, so that's why she's in there. The rest are just random strokes of fate.
What you have been listening to?
