I don't need to go into much detail about this, do I? It's V6. (shrug)
The video was done in one take apparently? I think that's what they said in the making of dealio. This was the end theme for SP.
This is TEPPEN, as performed by NEWS on the Pacific tour, I think? I dunno. I just wanna say that Tegoshi is totally cute, all the time. Of course, I'm also super drunk and trying to not think about my feelings for HMT or anything else, so it's good to project on other people. I guess?!?! Tegoshi's best in the video for アイアイ傘 though. I suppose?!?! God, what am I, a 14 year old girl?
Anyway, enjoy this video.
This is a newish KAT-TUN video. I think I first got into KAT-TUN a few years ago when they were performing "She said" on some sort of TV show. I thought it was catchy, and I kept hearing it in stores and stuff, so I decided to check out some of their other stuff.
It's 1:15am. I've been up since 8am, and I drove 600km today. I'm tired, so I'm just gonna point-form what I can remember. I think I've remembered all the things I wanted to share.
- My seat was Block A3, Seat 117. I figured it would be a shitty seat in a shitty venue.
- However, I was about as excited as I can ever possibly be (it's all on the inside, you see) when I realized that I was 8 rows from the front, and right beside the central catwalky thing. Additionally, the way the venue was set up, the farthest anyone would be from the performers would be like, 5 seats. Yeah, usually they'd be farther away, but there'd be moments when they'd be super close, and EVERYONE could experience that. It was awesome.
- The arrows are the aisles, and in them they rolled the performers by on rolly cart things... most of you probably know what I mean. Anyway, because of the set-up, and the relative smallness of the venue, you could ALWAYS see them clearly, and half the time they were super close (close enough to see you, too!) It was friggin' excellent.
- They sang some songs I don't know / haven't heard in years and forget (I'm not sure which). One of them had them repeating over and over (while the text flew by on the big screen in huge ornate letters) "RUB MY KNEE! RUB MY KNEE TOBE!" What.
- At the end of one of the MC segments, Inocchi and Nagano were yammering while the others got changed. They were trying to impersonate each other, but they realized they didn't really know how to. They tried for a while, and it was silly. Then the others came back and tried to imitate Nagano, and it just didn't work, but was hilarious.
- Before 蝶, they had Sakamoto tap dance for like, two minutes. It was bizarre. He was good, and stuff, but it was really weird.
- They did "Made in Japan" and "Thunderbird - Your Voice", which was fucking excellent! I didn't expect it.
- The girl behind me had a huge home-made Inocchi uchiwa, and an Inocchi hand puppet. She was totally smitten, but was getting disappointed, because he was always either not-in-the-middle (where we were), or when he was, he was looking the wrong way. Near the end, though, he saw her, smiled and waved as he made eye contact, and she squealed and had to be held up by her friends.
- If you bought the "Vibes" DVD thinger, there was a paper inside with a cell phone website and a code, and you could put that in within 3 hours of the end of your concert (along with the concert venue code, to prove you had been to that concert), and download a photo of the group taken that night. I forgot both my sheets at home, and got home too late. It's not a problem though, because it would be tiny res, and trapped on my cell phone.
- They did "Light in Your Heart", and I'm not sure what to think of it. I mean, I think it was good, but (1) it was really loud and I was deaf by that time, so I couldn't really hear clearly -- additionally I was too busy trying to keep my dental work from rattling out of place because of the bass and (2) Leather jackets and wife beaters :) It suited Ken best, though.
- For an "encore", they came out and did "Honey Beat", "心からの歌", then spoke about the end of 学校へ行こう, then did a retrospective of the past 11 years in video while they sang "Believe". Then they left. Then they came out for the real encore, which was "本気がいっぱい".
- After the encore, I was trapped in Block A3 because everyone in my section refused to believe that it was, in fact, over. Even when the security people started saying, "Yes, it's really over, move along now!" they kept chanting for another encore, despite the fact that Ken had blown everyone a kiss, which is the traditional end of the show, you see. Just as they were starting to come to grips with it being the end, some random staff member rustled a curtain in the entrance to stage, and everyone saw it and squealed and the chanting began again in earnest. 20 minutes later, I finally got out.
- Then getting out of the parking lot was difficult, what with the shitty light, and the scads of people who drove. Took another 20 minutes to get out of there. Stopped at a convenience store down the road to grab a quick bite to eat before hopping on the highway again, and in honour of the concert, I guess, they were playing V6 oldies. I walked in to "Music for the People", and it just stayed in the pre-2000 era while I was there.
All in all, it was a fucking excellent day, and I'm really really pleased. Only way I could be more pleased is if people weren't so uptight about bringing cameras into the venue and taking a couple snapshots. -_-
Anyway, now it's 2am, and I actually technically have work in 6 hours (haaaaaaa like I'm gonna show up then, though), so I'm off to bed!
It's close to the start of the week.
A new NEWS album, and a new NEWS single account for that. Here's one of my favourite songs off the new album.
Yup, plz to listen and enjoy.
Nothing really to talk about today, so let's skip to the end. Here's a short video taken from the bus as we drove to the DMZ from Seoul in October 2006, me and a busload of Japanese tourists. If I remember correctly, those mountains you can see in the background are on the other side of the river, and thus, in North Korea.
Me? Watching old V6 videos like burning. Why? No real reason. I just have them, so I figure I should watch them.
Anyway, one of my favourite V6 songs is "Made in Japan. It's catchy, and with a driving beat that just keeps going, what's not to like. I'd never seen the video though, so I was interested to know how it was.
So, in this post, I'm just gonna write about a random assortment of things.
As you read in my last post, I'm hoping to go to Vietnam next month. The last time I left my insulated little Tonami/Tak/Toyama City corridor was October when I went to Seoul. I really should be going somewhere this weekend, since I took today off to make it a 4-day weekend, but I'm just like... bleeeeh. I dunno if it's the winter blues (how can it be? it's like spring outside all the time), if it's a thing of I'm lonely and starved of human contact or if I'm depressed for some other reason, but I'm not liking it. I just sort of procrastinated like mad about this weekend, and then suddenly it was the Thursday before and I'm like "... oh shit, I should find something to do!" Looked into hotels in Tokyo and Osaka, found cheap ones, just couldn't bring myself to go though. (shrug) The prospect of having to get to Tokyo, get on a plane, make a connection in Seoul, arrive in Vietnam around midnight, while not speaking any Vietnamese, etc., is making me all anxious, and I'm not sure why. When I went to China two years ago, I didn't speak Chinese, but it didn't worry me. I didn't speak Korean when I went to Seoul, but I managed just fine (except for one incident with a taxi driver). But these days, the idea of straying too far from my apartment concerns me, and the fact that it concerns me concerns me even more! I dunno, I'll get over it. It'll be fine. So long as I force myself to commit to the Vietnam trip, it'll be good.
What else... I'm trying half-assedly to plan the rest of my holidays up to the end of July. I have 9 days to use, the bulk of which will be for Vietnam, then two during Golden Week, one in July, one or two in June. In reality, I have 21 days to use before the end of July, but I can carry 12 ahead, and since I'm here for one more year, I'd like to start next year with 32 days. :)
Golden Week I'm gonna go on a road trip again. My road trip to Shikoku was fuckwin, so I wanna do that again. I haven't been to Kyushu or up north into Tohoku yet, so one of those will be my destination. I'm gonna, I think, decide based on which one has a better concert I could go to. :P Checking Ticket Street now, I see Himuro Kyosuke in Akita during that period (he's a rocker, but I don't really know him apart from a recent collaboration with GLAY), Arashi and Angela Aki in Tokyo, Porno Graffiti in Nagoya (interesting note: They'll actually be in Kanazawa in June -- but the same night as the Charity Show -_-), Nakashima Mika here in Toyama, Gospellers in Kagoshima... nothing particularly good yet... Maybe more will pop up closer to the time.
At one of the torrent sites I frequent, I found a NEWS discography as well as a Miyavi discography this week, both of which I downloaded and am currently enjoying. Miyavi is also pretty rock, and he's really good.
Additionally, rumour has it that he'll be joining the YOSHIKI/Gackt project that will be touring later this year (starting in the US). It's good stuff.
In the NEWS discography, there was a remix of Cherish (I've linked the original here several times) which is pretty awesome. Here, let's enjoying it.
I think maybe that's it for random for today. Now it's time for some late-night CSI Miami action on AXN.
Ok bai. :)*Sunglasses off*
"They hit one of us, they hit us all."
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW
Q. How does one know it's too cold in one's apartment?
A: Though there are many ways, a useful indicator is the state of your olive oil; if it's a solid, your apartment is too cold.
It's not that winter's really all that cold, especially this year. It was cold enough for long enough the past couple days, though, that my olive oil is a solid block. Have to run it under hot water before I try to cook. -_-
In other news, I downloaded a bunch of NewS PVs (shut up -_-), and found this song, which I'd never heard before. The PV is kind of weird, but the song is fuckwin.
