I'm in Osaka posting by mail from my DS. Gadgets!
Last night I was convinced Osaka was the worst city in Japan, and the
3rd rudest city in Asia, but today the jury's out.
Went to the aquarium yesterday. Good times. Fucked my ankles somehow. Oh well.
Heading to Yodobashi Camera after this, and then a quick run to the
castle park, then Namba and Dotonbori for the rest of the day. Yup.
Pics and details tmrw when i'm not typing with a stylus at a coffee shop. ^_^
i'm at jusco
waiting on takoyaki to be made
by the rude guys who always point and talk about me.
way to reinforce their bullshit attitude
some high school boy said hi to me in the atm vestibule. said he used to go to my school. couldnt place him,but maybe he was bfore me? havnt done math.
could have talked a bit,but was caught offguard so ran away after pleasatries. and i wonder y im lonely.
takoyaki done. bye.
-to leave tokyo makes me sad
-it's sunny and warm in kanto
-to show up 30sec before the shink and then linejump should be an
asskick-worthy offense - i don't care how old or japanese you are
-god i hate fruit day in animal crossing
-motherfucking snow! god i hate you, hokuriku!
-when will the hakutaka fuck off into the future and ban smoking?
-there's a small child beside me watching me type
-did i mention snow? god, fuck off
-mario party ds is a cheating bitch
-bought a second FFT figure cuz theyre cool, but got a second ovelia... want it?
-shokotan is fighting with pink nunchuks
-gal sone is juggling eggs and eating them
NOTE: There was a HELL of a lot more to this post, but somehow, either Softbank ate the last part of the message, or Vox killed it. Though it IS incredibly annoying, it can really be boiled down to, "Japanese NEw Year's TV is bizarre/awesome."
-japanese kids can be cute when they want to be
-i'm a colossal weeaboo
-character hats of eva-00 and sachiel are cute but dorky; cheap, but a gateway cosplay item. first it's a character hat, next it's green wigs and sailor uniforms.
-evangelion knit caps with the nerv logo or the b&w design of that angel that swallowed shinji and had him sit on a train talking to ppl before he ripped his bloody way out are awesome but expensive.
-evangelion voodoo dolls are neato but overpriced
-the old nerv logo is superior, tho the new one is not without merit
-i have a weakness for character goods. also stuffed animals. especially character goods in the form of stuffed animals. cactuar will join vivi and slime.
-i like riding trains; i should really have used my free ticket to greater good and headed to yokohama. one day.
-bcos it's getting on in the day,and my leg (tho ok now) is dodgy,i don't feel i can go very far,and so i feel i've run out of things to do... but it's only 4pm
-gotta catch an earlyish train and i shouldn't spend too much more money, so i'm in for the night now.
pictures tmrw (and maybe voice post from concert)
1. remember when i spoke about buying a watch chain? yeah, it was relevant because at the concert,i sat during free talk time, but when learn-a-dance time came,my chain was stuck in the seat! got it freed, but it took like 2min,
2.there were no v6-concert-style catwalks, which was disappointing, but there was a delightful crane apparatus to bring her up to eye level with nosebleed seats like mine; this was only on the north side though - the southern nosebleeders had nothing like it. as i was northside, this was okay.
went back to ameyoko-cho, and bought a new earring, a wristband thing
i'll take a pic of l8r, and a belt chain, cuz i'm trendy like that.
followed it up with a leisurely lunch at KFC (trendy!!) and wrote a
bunch of postcards. headed back to hotel because the leg i fucked up
yesterday was still fucked. i could walk, but i had a pretty wicked
limp. couldn't barely lift my leg high enough for stair climbing fun.
came back and chilled, checked email, watched tv, played mario party
ds [peach is still a cheating ho], and napped for an hour or so. went
for supper at royal host in otsuka, and had the sirloin donburi. it
was fantastic, and the horseradish was spicy and delicious in a way
i'd forgotten food could be. i felt it in my sinuses.
came back to the hotel for pre-concert medication, then left.
got to the site in harajuku around 9:25, and took a few pictures
before getting into the [short and efficient] goods line. nothing rly
all that good... plaid bag, strwbry crepe roll omiyage, towels... i
got the ubiquitous pen/stick lite and the charm/dangly thing.
got in line for entry, as the doors eeren't open yet. gathered around
and watched ayu's kouhaku performance on ppl's 1seg enabled phones,
and a cheeer went up through the crowd when it finished because [1] it
was win and [2] it meant she'd be back at the venue soon.
went in, sat, relaxed. guy with the seat beside mine came. he was
cute, and into one of ayu's dancers. in the end, there were 4 seats
for him and me, so we had seats for our bags.
ayu appeared, and opened with talkin' 2 myself [aka ayu's dance
mercenaries take over thailand], and the next hour was nonstop
awesome. countdown came, which was followed up by evolution and a
break [while we got to watch the ever-amusing ayu logo dancing][i'm
not being sarcastic]. when shr came back, there was new year's wishes
and resolutions from her and the band, and then other audience
participation fun, like singalong, dance along, and so on.
oooh, i forgot! just before midnight, there was a cut to ayu's
pre-recorded new year's message, intercut with video of the 2007 asian
tour; but she was speaking english, with japanese titles on the video.
it was nice :] ''this year, we worked hard, and sometimes cried. but
i was never alone. you were never alone.. we were always together. in
2008 let's work together blahblahblah''. it was nice --i just forget
a lot of it. :[
it was a great concert -- better than the v6 one, but only bcos i was
surrounded by ppl who were excited to be there. at v6, i was
surrounded by ppl who were downers and not into it.
anyway, i had a fucking great time!!!
then came exit, which wasn't as organized as at v6, but i still got
out fast... so i could wait 4evar for an ikebukuro-bound train
[busy!!]
came back and wrote for you. :] more details l8r when i'm not posting
from a DS, yes?
tmrw, fukubukuro!
now, 4:20am -- bed.

KABOOM!
;(
welp, it`s that time again.
woke up around 9, hung out in my room preparing for the day, migrating
into my new bag, watcching tv, etc [there was an ep of gokusen on, but
i dunno what season, also some sort of school athletic thing hosted by
inocchi [who is always on tv my first morning in tokyo, it seems]
where yhe losing team cried and wailed and gnashed teeth and moaned].
went out and headed to harajuku. the weather was great, as forecast,
and i was feeling good. went out the takeshita exit, and was confused
as i`d never been out thatway b4. walked up to the other exit just to
see if it was the exit i remembered from september`s concert, and it
was. once i got my bearings, i decided to visit Meiji Jingu. It
wasn`t busy at all [bcos everyone is waiting for new year`s eve/day to
go], so it was good. prayed, bought a couple omamori [driving safety
and 'victory', which i guess is general enough to be helpful], and
carried on. it reminded me a little of ise jingu, but no where near
as awe inspiring.
i was looking for the part of yoyogi park with the `cosplay-zoku' or
whatever they're called these days, but got lost, i guess. walked
back to harajuku, stopping for lunch at subway on the way [yum].
while lunching [and verbing nouns] it clouded ovr, which ws a little
worrisome, but the forecast said no rain, just cloudy periods. walked
back to harajuku, tooled around a bit, got a distance from the stn,
and then the sky opened up, and i was soaked on going. the walk from
ueno to okachimachi is short and interesting; the walk from
okachimachi to akihabara is long and boring. during this walk, my leg
got worse. not in the normal 'my thigh burns' way, but in a new 'my
knee and right groin don`t move properly anymore' way. hopped a train
for ebisu and ate at a 'English pub'. it was nice and the fish and
chips owned. sitting for so long had fucked my leg even more though
