I bought a new camera!
It's a Canon EOS Kiss F.
Anyway, I don't have that lens, because it's hella expensive. I bought the 50mm f/1.8 which was only like $90. That in addition to the kit lens.
It came this morning, and I had just enough time to charge the battery before I had to leave for a murder mystery party. Didn't have much of a chance to read the manual, so a lot of the pics i took early in the afternoon are shite because i didn'tknow what I was doing D:
These still aren't so good, but they're not baaaaaaaad. I'll go practice more tomorrow.
I dunno what to go take pics of, but I had better, now that I've dropped money on this!
EDIT (I forgot to append the bonus video -_-)
HEre is Ayu's new video. It is good.
On second thought, let's not to go Oyabe... 'tis a silly place.
This is coming out of a drainage pipe in the hill they've covered in concrete that's 20m below a junior high school :goog:
Because today was nice again, I went to my SUPAR SECRAT sakura viewing place (it's really just along the Oyabe-gawa behind Hard Off in Tak). Then went to the flood-plains near the Tulip Stadium to take some pics with my wide-converter, but apparently there was gunk on it, or on something, so they all look horrendous. I looked at it when I got home and noticed the big spots in the pics, but there was nothing on it, at either end, and it only showed up when the wide-converter was on, so it has to have been on it, sooooo I don't know -_-
Anyway, pictures.
And now -- a super short, boring as hell video of Dotonbori in Osaka, that would have been longer, but no more interesting, if my batteries hadn't died just then.
Behold! I bring you... PHOTOS.
Happy Jack is happy. This is with the built-in webcam in my vaio. It's not bad for a webcam!
I woke up on Saturday and flipped on the TV in my hotel room to check the weather. All over the news on every channel was the fact that one of the members of V6, the band I was in town to see, had announced his soon-to-be-married status at the concert on Friday evening. Cute couple. Giant ring.

On my way to Harajuku for the concert, all the newspapers people were reading on the train had the same thing on the front page.

I arrived about an hour before the doors opened (so, two hours before the concert was to start), and figured I'd do my concert goods/souvenir shopping before the show. There were photo sets and clear files and bath towels and so on for sale. I ended up buying the jumbo Ken uchiwa/fan, the Original Penlight, the Pamphlet/program/booklet, and the cloth shopping bag to carry it all in (none of it would fit in the other bag I brought, and it was in a locker at Meijijingumae Stn. anyway).
After that was done, the doors had just opened, so I figured I'd get in before the rush, and relax a bit.
Here's a view from my seat, blurry and stuff. Couldn't take real cameras in, of course, but in the pre-show period, a couple of cell phone pics were alright. My seat was in the nosebleediest of the nosebleed section. -_- That's the main stage waay down there. There was a smaller stage at the opposite end of the hall, with a walkway down the middle (and rope-drawn carts on either side). Also, you can see the catwalk just at the front of the seats here, where the members would walk up so that the nosebleed-section people wouldn't feel quite so bad. The pre-show background music was Maroon5, which was pretty WTF right there...... A strange but great sidenote was that my ass fit into the seat. I was fairly certain it wouldn't, but there was no problem. Was it spacious and someplace I'd want to sit for hours on end without getting up? No, but it's not like I had to wedge myself in or anything. Diet = very yes.
The show opened with Voyager, and for the next two hours, it was just pure awesome. Whenever they'd stop to talk, the banter was always about Inohara's marriage. They did the album songs, tossed in some older stuff like Thunderbird and Darling (Ken and Masa were on the catwalk at the front of my section for most of that bit, which was pretty win). They did uhhhh that song from that drama... about the Napolitan spaghetti... that Go did...? Anyway, since the other two from the drama weren't around, the other members played rock-papers-scissors to decide who was gonna do what roll. Ken ended up as the little kid with glasses, which was hilarious.
After the encore, they came out one last time as the MC guy was trying to explain the proper exit procedures (he quickly hid again once they re-appeared), just for a quick round of bows and thank yous and bye-byes (though those were mostly from Ken). Just as they exited, Ken blew a kiss to everyone, and there was much screaming and fanning.
After
the concert, because that's how I roll, I had decided I'd make the
entire day sort of V6-themed. As such, I decided to go for supper at
unmarble, a cafe in Aoyama that VVV6 visited in the Sept 13 episode I
think.
Had that omurice, ended up sitting in the back, where they sat when they were there for the show. A few of the wait staff were sitting back there doing some paper work while I was there, and they were talking about Inocchi's fiance, and how they made such a cute couple, and wow look at the size of that ring, and awww, isn't he such a nice guy, oh when he was here for the show, I just wanted to hug him, etc.
Tommy Lee Jones was EVERYWHERE. And he wasn't happy. But his coffee was delicious.
I saw this ad so many times, whenever I turned around. It started to get a little creepy, to be honest.
Finally made it to Shibuya, and though I wasn't tired in the "O god, I have to sit down, o man, what a terrible idea it was to walk this far" sense, I still wanted to pause for a little while, make sure I didn't overdo it. Also, the intersection at Shibuya Stn. is one of my favourite people-watching places in Tokyo. I took some pictures.
Hopped on the train and took the long way back to Otsuka. Took the opportunity to take some sneaky people shots on the train, too.
Nope, he was gonna take the same express as I was, which meant he had 50 minutes before he had to make his connection. OKAY, UR BIG HURRY SURE PAID OFF, BUB.
That's okay, I got a picture of him.
Also took this picture by doing a long exposure out the window of the train in a tunnel.
And now I almost go to bed. :)
So, on a forum, I have this as my signature image:
My flickr pictures and info.
Today, I noticed that suddenly I had 4 pictures in explore. Now, in the past, this picture:
has bounced in and out of explore, sitting right around the cutoff point for that day. But suddenly four? What sort of bizarreness was this!
So now I present to you my 4 explore pics.

This one isn't very good at all, yet it's #303 for June 10th.

This one is at #39 for June 10th. It's better. I don't understand how either of these got into Explore, but alright. They make 983249323x more sense than the next two.
Whaaat? They're just shitty blurry cell phone pics with doofy frames added because I was moblogging on the day of the show. And they get into explore? Additionally, it's suggested that to get your pics into explore, you should add them to some relevant groups, but only a few, not the 294389023842 groups that some people add pictures to... these ones? Only in my own account, not in any group pools. So... confusion!
It's either really hot in here, or I'm hella fevered, I can't tell which. I feel extremely blah though. Could just be the prospect of wasting another long weekend by not going anywhere, though.
Gotta pop to the uhhhhhh post office at lunch and see if they know where my concert tickets are... I don't think they will, because I'm increasingly under the impression that the date that I didn't hear in my confirmation was in November, and not next week as I originally thought, but I'm gonna check with the post office anyway.
...k bai!
The weather was beautiful, and I hadn't gone out to take pics in a long time, so I decided to take a drive to Nagasaka and see how the Giant Camphor Tree looks in summer. Got a lot of good pics, and now I'm gonna spam you with them. :)
Though the Giant Immovable Camellia Tree of Nagasaka was just down the road, I didn't bother taking any pics of it... it's like, in someone's back yard, and that'd be kinda weird... In Himi, there were many ptarmigans, very close to me, but I couldn't get any good pics of them... they always flew away just as I got my camera ready. :(
I was inspired a little bit by Ganesh, because he's always out taking pictures of nature.
You can see all of the pictures I took today here.
